When Did May End?

Seriously, because I was going to post another quick blog update, and then suddenly it was June, I was sitting in my apartment sweating, not having posted anything in…a month? Almost a month. Embarassing, but I guess I just have a slow-motion blog. I have a fast-motion professional life these days, which takes up a lot of my leisure time, and the first thing to go is my blog. Poor blog. This is no joke: I have stuff to get out of the way, I need to be fresh and I will (hopefully) have an epic post to make after this coming weekend. I will be possibly be posting three times this week. Fingers crossed. (I feel like fingers are crossed to little effect pretty often on this little blog.)

Anna Hoberman is a superstar. Enough said.

I’ve found myself going out a lot recently and having a good time with a nice mix of people. I almost always bring my camera, and I take a lot of pictures of all my friends. I guess I don’t feel like party pictures are what I want to post on my blog, but every once and a while I take one that I really like, and this is one of those. After a certain amount of time in a downtown loft, and a certain number of too-strong margaritas, doing deep-knee bends on a rooftop seemed to be the right thing to do.

I took this at the same party, on the same roof. I like it.

So then… what happened next? I can barely remember, it was all so long ago. I went to Middletown, Connecticut to see Leila’s last gospel concert (the Wesleyan Ebony Singers) and before the show we went down to the side of the river and I took this picture. I actually took a bunch of pictures, but of all of them, I didn’t really like any of them, except for this one. Whoops. I need more practice

A couple weeks ago I went to meet Kristina at a mac-and-cheese only restaurant in the city, and on my way from work I walked through Union Square, which is always full of people when it’s warm, but at the moment that I walked by the light was especially nice, and so I took this picture of a random couple. They are reasonably good looking, and the picture is nice, so you can enjoy their young hip romance as I did.

It looks like he is about to catch a football that is flying in from off to the right.

As the summer creeps up on Cobble Hill, Kane Street gets greener and greener and more lovely. Recently it’s been kind of opressively hot, but still - the view is nice.

So, speaking of Kane Street, the family house (which I often visit) is getting a whole new kitchen as I write this. I have been photographing the stages of deconstruction and rebuilding over the last few weeks, and I think they will make a nice thematic post. Look for part 1 of the kitchen adventure in a few days. Also, look right now at Neko - she is in said kitchen, and appears to have just had a premonition that it was all going to be destroyed in a matter of days:

Actually, I think we had just put some steak on the table and she got a whiff.
